History

Morocco was one of the 15 countries that took part in the first edition, where it placed 9th with 94 points with the song "Wanna Be Free" performed by Maria Nadim, which remains the country's best result to date.

Without giving any reasons, 2M TV withdrew Morocco from the second edition. They did, however, return to the third edition and they have participated in every edition since then excluding the sixth edition.
